2013 – Christmas has come to Wanganui

The Christmas Heirloom Company™ has just opened a seasonal shop at 26A Victoria Ave. It is packed with everything you could ever want to make Christmas the highlight of the year. Even Ebenezer Scrooge of Christmas Carol fame would be instantly converted by this delightful shop full of colourful Christmas decorations.

Each Christmas tree is decorated according to a theme. So whether you prefer your tree to celebrate kiwiana, elves, toy story, gingerbread or to follow your favourite colour combinations such as pearl and champagne, silver, gold, red and gold or woodland, they are all here. There is even a baby’s first tree range.

The trees themselves range from three feet to 12 feet and will literally last a life time.

Kids of all ages will be fascinated by the ‘collectables.’ There are exquisite Father Christmas figures including one of Santa in an ice cave. Quality nativity sets, gingerbread houses complete with changing coloured lights, beautiful angels amidst the Three Wise Men, musical boxes with miniature train sets circling – there is plenty to choose from.

A favourite has to be the range of LEMAX village houses, stores and churches. Every northern hemisphere village has to have a outdoors skating rink. Turn it on and the people skate around to the music.

Everyday decorations, although very little about the shop can actually be described as ‘everyday’, are there as well, from garlands, table centre pieces, drops and wreaths to stockings, napkins, ribbons, berries and bows.  If you want something made up – just ask.

If you want candles but are discouraged by the melting wax or the danger of a possible fire, they have the answer – battery operated candles controlled by a remote, and you can hardly tell the difference.

The Christmas Heirloom Company™ is a New Zealand company with 26 years experience. Sue Woollaston owns the Wild Roses gift shop in Taihape and eight years ago bought the franchise for The Christmas Heirloom Company™ for the area which includes Wanganui. She decided to open up a shop here with their exclusive products and judging by the number of customers, it is already proving to be a wise decision.
